MEASURING OUR QUALITY

In order to achieve customer satisfaction we:
Define a STANDARD as "a side of leather produced by Temola and approved by the customer"
Produce in accordance to that standard.
Measure quality in five areas: Physical properties, Weight, Color, Selection and Appearance.

WEIGHT

We believe that consistency in weight, on every side and every production lot, is critical for maintaining customer satisfaction.

The use of statistical process control techniques, including histograms, control charts and Pareto analysis, enable Temola to control product weight throughout the manufacturing process.

COLOR

Measured visually against the standard and also with a spectrophotometer.

Production lot retains and color charts are kept for five years and are analyzed to monitor and control trends.

PHYSICAL PROPERTIES

Our lab is equipped to perform tests in accordance to all major OEM (Original Equipment manufacturers) material specifications. Testing capabilities include:

Peeling
Crocking
Tear strength
Elongation
Stitch tear
Tensile strength.
Taber
Finish Adhesion.
Fogging
Light fastness
Chemical resistance

APPEAREANCE

We measure color, grain and gloss according to internal standards. Each production lot is assigned a rating of 1, 2 or 3, against the Standard.

SELECTION

We use a SATRA system to measure the expected yield of our production lots.

Our final inspectors have been all certified by SATRA.
